• 2004-2007 Medical Computer Scientist at ID GmbH Berlin, Assistant Professor at L3S Research Centre / Leibniz University Hannover 2007-2012, conducted by national and EU research projects

• 2012 Group leader in Medical Informatics at the University Medical Centre Göttingen, research group leader of «Digital patient model» at the University of Leipzig from 2013 to 2015

Since August 2015 Professor for Medical Informatics at the BFH. The Friedrich-Wingert Foundation Young Researchers Prize was awarded for outstanding approaches in Medical Linguistics and Semantics 2006.

Research at the University of South Australia, and at SAP Research Brisbane, Australia, Project Leader of the EU project «M-Eco - Medical Ecosystem» of 2010-2012 for the early detection of disease outbreaks, since 2014 consulting work for the Helmholtz Centre for Infection Research in the project Sormás - Surveillance and Outbreak Management System.

Member of the German Society of Medical Computer Science, Biometry and Epidemiology (GMDS), and the German Trade Journalists Association; a member of the IMIA Working Group Social Media in medicine, lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences Berlin, Technical University of Braunschweig and at the «Ecole Francaise d'Electronique et d'Informatique» in Paris.
