In the 21st Century, the interrelation between technology and applied ethics forms an interdisciplinary field of studies for engineers and computer specialists. Because of this, our engineering students are expected to have some fundamental training in tackling ethical issues. Employers and society expect engineers and computer specialists to be ethical, accountable for their designs, and be prepared to meet new challenges.
In practicing their technical professions, our engineers and computer specialists must also consider international standards, emerging technologies, climatic changes, public health, extended rights, research guidelines, consequences of technology, security, work ethics, etc. Students must develop new strategies to recognize and deal with ethical issues.
Applied ethics is a valuable tool for recognizing ethical issues, unraveling ethical dilemmas, and making appropriate ethical decisions.
This is a very practical course.
</ziele>
