The Master’s course in Biomedical Engineering is accessible to a wide audience through the cooperation between the universities and university of applied sciences. For the first time in Switzerland, graduates of universities of applied sciences who have studied relevant disciplines (Microtechnology, Electrical Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science and others) are qualified to commence a university Master's course without any preconditions. They can enjoy interdisciplinary studies with fellow students of different technical and cultural backgrounds. In principle, the successful completion of the Master’s course enables the commencement of a doctoral thesis with the aim of gaining a doctorate. Graduates of universities of applied sciences can thus enter the world of science. Another advantage of this programme is that lectures only take place three days a week. This allows for part-time employment, which suits those who are already working in particular.
