Master of Science

The Master of Science is the second study cycle according to the Bologna-System. Our university offers two different Master of Science study courses:

The mutually offered study course of all Swiss universities of applied sciences from September 2008, the Master of Science in Engineering (MSE) focuses on practices and takes place in the so-called Master Research Units. They comprise a specialised area of competence, they have an excellence infrastructure at disposal, and with their projects they guarantee connections to the industrial practice.

Our four Master Research Units:

  •  “Energy - Transport - Mobility” stands for an efficient handling with energy as well as a secure and sustainable mobility.
  • “Mobile Information Society” links information technologies with (mobile) communication technologies in order to create smart applications for professional and private users.
  • “Production Technology” provides with its new processes and production engineering sustainable values for industry and society.
  •  “Human Interface Technology” transfers modern technologies into practical applications to support and facilitate the life of man.
Flash is required!

Full- or part-time studies of 3 and/or 6 semesters. Both graduations are equal and require 90 ECTS-Credits. It is possible to have sponsored the part-time study courses by the industry, involving an employment as an assistant at our university. The study courses begin in September.

The study course to the Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering has been offered since 2006 in cooperation with the medical faculty of the University of Bern and the Bern University of Applied Sciences, Engineering and Information Technology. For the first time, students of a university of applied sciences are admitted to study at a university without preconditions. The master degree programme deals with interdisciplinary issues and questions at the intersection of medicine and technology and allows to cover the high demand of highly educated professionals of the Swiss industry in medical-technology.

In addition to the well founded study courses of the medical and technical specialized knowledge, the students become acquainted with the path of a medical product from the development to the market maturity. The programme includes the main subject areas “Musculoskeletal“ as well as “Microsensor and Actuator Technology”. Further, basic subjects and optional specialisation subjects are chosen. The one-semester Master thesis entitles to the graduation.

Sorry, we do not have all the information in English. However, all the pages are available in German and most of them in French. So make your choice!
