Incoming Students

Located in the heart of Switzerland, the Bern University of Applied Sciences (BUAS) is a particularly attractive place for foreign students. It is unique in Switzerland not only for some of its Bachelor and Master courses, but also for the opportunity of multilingual study courses.

The following organisations can help you plan and set up a traineeship:

  • StudEx – Organising traineeships at home and abroad
    StudEx organises three- to twelve-month traineeships in 32 European countries for students and graduates from German-speaking Switzerland. It also offers students and graduates from European universities traineeships in Switzerland. If necessary, it supports trainees with a monthly grant or reimburses travel and language course costs.

  • IAESTE – Traineeships abroad for technical specialisations
    IAESTE (International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience) organizes traineeships in over eighty countries for students of technical subjects. For foreign students, it offers approximately one hundred traineeships with Swiss firms.

  • AIESEC – Foreign traineeships for business and economics students
    With well over 800 local committees in one hundred countries, the Association Internationale des Étudiants en Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (AIESEC) is the largest international student organisation. Combining the elements of “leadership development“, “international traineeships” and “learning in a global environment” AIESEC has a wide-ranging brief.
