Quality management

Starting Point

The law of the University of Applied Sciences expects their professors to have appropriate didactic skills.
The QM established by the TI on the basis of  EFQM as well as the Institution for Accreditation require such a necessary didactic competence.

Implementation at the BFH

  • The plan of further education of the KFH requires - according to the performance qualifications - a didactic basic qualification of 200 working hours.
    KFH

Need for Action for Owners  of a DIS-Certificate

There are several professors who taught at the three  former HTA schools in Berne, Burgdorf or Bienne and who possess a proof – the DIS-certificate - regarding their didactic skills.
Is this certificate still valid? In principle, yes, but...

DIS stands for Direktorenkonferenz der Ingenieurschulen Schweiz/ Board of Directors of the Engineering Schools Switzerland and, since the name DIS has become outdated in the meantime (it is now called FTAL), and is not known at many schools, we recommend to the holders of the old certificate a transformation of their old DIS-certificate into the new BFH-certificate.
This means, professors wishing to obtain the new certificate have only to fill the application form for the BFH-    certificate high school didactics and send it together with a copy of the old DIS certificate to the head of faculty.
According to the above mentioned procedure, the head of faculty forwards the application, after examining the correctness of the statement, to the head of department.
